First, the feeling and rhythm of the day. Then the practical details that make it work.
01
Day 01 · A gentle arrival
Arrive and settle in
The first day only needs to feel easy: a warm meal, winter clothes within reach and time to settle into your own space.
On arrival
Reach the accommodation and get your bearings.
Before dinner
Check clothing and the route to food; keep a short outing optional.
Evening
A relaxed meal and an early night if the family needs it.
Practical details and checks
Keep the day open around your arrival. Check the route to food, prepare winter clothing and leave time to rest.
No timed activity. Airport or station transfer is chosen separately for the actual arrival.
02
Day 02 · One shared experience
One reindeer outing
An unhurried morning leaves room to enjoy the day’s reindeer outing. Afterwards, the family can return to warmth without another departure to catch.
Morning
Breakfast, free time nearby and lunch before the example pickup.
Afternoon
One suitable reindeer programme, with transport confirmed separately.
After returning
Warm up, rest and choose dinner around the family’s energy.
Practical details and checks
Illustrative provider: Raitola’s 1 h Reindeer Safari. The provider lists an overall programme of about two hours, with a one-hour sleigh safari within it.
For the hypothetical 14:00 departure, the listed pickup is at 13:15 outside Santa’s Hotel Santa Claus in the city centre, not automatically at your accommodation. Confirm collection and return directly. This is not an available or booked departure.
Choose the Santa experience that matters to your family and let the visit unfold around it. There is room for questions, lunch and a change of pace.
Before leaving
Check the chosen visit, opening hours and outward and return transport.
During the visit
Leave time around the main experience for meals and warm breaks.
Later
Return when it suits the family; keep the evening simple.
Practical details and checks
Plan the visit around the family’s priorities, meals and time in queues. Choose the experiences and their prices directly.
Check the bus timetable or a transfer from your exact address. An initial planning allowance of 20–30 minutes for the road journey each way is not a bus timetable or guaranteed travel time; add walking, waiting and winter-condition margin.
04
Day 04 · Space to enjoy your base
A day close to your base
The last day can be the one with the least to organise: a gentle outing nearby, time together and room to pack if you are heading home.
Morning
Breakfast and, if needed, packing before check-out.
Free time
A short local outing or quiet time using suitable facilities at the stay.
If departing
Follow the confirmed transfer and airport or station arrival requirements.
Practical details and checks
Leave space for a gentle local outing and time together. Adapt the day if it is also your departure day.
Choose a route suited to conditions and the group. Keep the fixed departure transfer separate from flexible free time.

Provider prices were checked on 22 September 2026. Raitola lists optional pickup and return at €12 without a clear charging unit on the page, so it is not multiplied or included above. The museum is an alternative, not an extra automatically added to the activity total. Accommodation, flights or rail, meals, other experiences and transport are not priced in this sample. This is not a holiday quote.
When the day needs another direction
Two weather alternatives
A
Alternative A · an indoor museum visit
Consider Arktikum if it suits the children. Its published guidance suggests 1–2 hours. Check your date’s opening hours and ticket terms; the museum lists 24 December 2026 as closed.
B
Alternative B · stay close to the accommodation
Use suitable facilities at your booked accommodation and a relaxed meal, subject to what is actually available. This keeps the day flexible without requiring a second paid excursion.
These are two alternatives for the whole plan. They do not cancel an existing booking or guarantee a refund. Check cancellation or change terms with the original provider before switching.
A suggested booking order
Confirm your accommodation address, travel dates and arrival/departure arrangements.
Check the priority activity: exact departure, children’s suitability, clothing, pickup, return and full-party cost.
Read provider terms and book directly. Confirm transport before booking another fixed departure.
Choose the remaining visits and check opening hours. Keep the two alternatives available where practical.
Before a real trip, replace each example with the provider-confirmed time, meeting point, cost and booking reference. Talvia provides remote planning; you check availability, book and pay providers directly. No on-trip support or on-site coordination is included.
Recommendations within your agreed service identify the provider, contact or booking link, why the option fits and what to confirm before booking. Pickup location, winter clothing, age limits and dietary needs can all affect the choice.
If a suitable service has a confirmed partner benefit, you receive its terms and instructions. You check availability, accept the booking conditions and pay the provider directly.
Make the plan your own.
A personal plan: 2–5 planned days, one booked base, up to six travellers. One revision and two weather alternatives for the overall plan.
